Endless Summer Days

There was something magical about the endless summer days of our youth. No school for three months, and plenty of time for adventures with friends. Time seemed to flow aimlessly, without direction or forward motion. And so did we through our days.

We spent our summer months on an island in the Pacific Northwest. Sun, a sandy beach, and trails through the backwoods with tall trees was the backdrop for many experiences. Undiscovered treasures, at least to us, were found on a regular basis. And occasionally, there were also discoveries made about ourselves.

Parents didn't matter much to us. I have to admit it, we took them for granted. They were there in the mornings and evenings, and of course gave us a safe place to sleep and food to eat. But we kids roamed freely through our days, and focused our energy on what was fun or important to us. Secrets were kept, and discoveries shared. Mysteries would unfold around us, and we would revel in our investigations and wonder where it would lead us next.

Amazing summer adventures...

Many adventures were experienced during those summers, and they are blended together as both fact and fiction in the chapters I write and will be offering to you in a book when complete. The Memories section on this site contains true events, and are used as inspiration. The book is nearly finished, and I look forward to sharing it with you.

I am remembering, creating, and writing...
